Hi, Thanks for your question! The $199.99 models is probably our Master-Touch Kettle, which is the same as the Original Kettle Premium, except it also is about 2″ taller, has a warming rack, rubber wheels, a Gourmet BBQ System and 2 charbasket charcoal holders. Thanks!
We have both the 22″ and 18″ models. The 22″ model – this one being sold here – is large enough to fit 3 beer can chickens. I am wondering if Kevin C has the 18″ model, which is not big enough. Sometimes a very large chicken will touch the top of the grill cover, but this usually doesn’t impact the cooking time or end result.
Bear in mind this will depend on how you setup your charcoal for direct/indirect cooking. Probably, you’ll set the pile of coals on one side of the grill, and leave the other half for indirect (if you’re using the Weber Chimney to start your coals, a full chimney really only covers about half anyway). You’ll likely want to char the burgers over direct heat first, then move to indirect if needed. This gives about half of the usable area on the grill. So I would say you could comfortably fit 6-8 decent sized burgers, or 4-5 chicken breasts on one side of the grill at any time. That being said, it would be easy to cook for, say, 6-7 people by cooking over direct heat first, moving to indirect to finish, and starting the next batch of burgers/chicken over direct (cycle it).
100% of the parts come from Mexico/China. It is only turned into packagable sub-assembly in America. Not really any American content and a little labour only ASSEMBLED in the U.S.A. Big deal Still it is a good item and I bought one.
